Terms and Conditions

PrepX Slide ("the Service", at slide.scalpelxlab.com) is run by ScalpelXLab ("we", "us"). By signing in or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use it.

The Service uses artificial intelligence to write study notes and turn them into editable presentation slides on medical topics, adds openly licensed images where available, and lets you download the result as a PowerPoint (.pptx) file.

Content from the Service is for education and exam preparation. It is not medical advice and must not be used on its own to diagnose or treat any patient.

The content is written by AI from its trained knowledge. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and figures may not match a particular textbook edition. Items marked "(verify against your textbook)" are ones the AI was unsure about. You are responsible for checking drug doses, scoring cut-offs and all other facts against current guidelines and your own sources before you rely on or present them.

You sign in with your Google account. Keep access to it secure: you are responsible for activity on your PrepX Slide account. One person per account; do not share accounts or create multiple accounts to obtain free Gems.

• Decks are paid for with Gems: 15 Gems for every 10 slides. Regenerating a single slide costs 2 Gems.
• New accounts receive 20 free Gems. Decks made with free Gems carry a small "free trial" mark.
• Plan Gems (Student, Pro, Pro annual) last until the end of the plan period and do not roll over. Pro annual adds Gems every month, and they expire at the end of the year. Gem top-ups never expire while your account exists.
• Only one plan can be active at a time. Upgrading to a higher plan ends your current plan immediately and replaces its remaining Gems.
• Prices are shown on the Pricing page, in rupees for India and US dollars elsewhere. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Your bank may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees.
• Gems have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money.

• You can cancel a subscription at any time by emailing admin@scalpelxlab.com. It stops renewing, and your plan and its Gems stay available until the end of the period already paid for. Partial periods are not refunded.
• When you upgrade, the previous plan ends with no refund for its unused period.
• If a deck fails to generate, the Gems it used are returned to your account automatically.
• A Gem top-up can be refunded in full if you request it within 7 days of purchase and none of its Gems have been used. Write to admin@scalpelxlab.com with your payment ID.
• If you are charged twice, or charged without receiving Gems, email us with the payment ID and we will correct it or refund the charge.
• Approved refunds are made to the original payment method through Razorpay and usually reach you within 5 to 7 working days.

You agree not to:

• enter patients' names or other identifying patient information into the Service;
• use the Service for anything unlawful, or to create misleading or harmful medical content;
• try to break, overload or get around the Service's security, limits or payments;
• copy, scrape or resell the Service or its content in bulk.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

You may use, edit and present the decks you create, including in teaching and conferences. The AI writes text in its own words; it is instructed not to copy text from textbooks. Book titles mentioned in the Service belong to their publishers and are named only as the subject of the AI's trained knowledge; there is no connection with or endorsement by those publishers.

Images come from Wikimedia Commons under open licences (such as CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC0 or public domain), with the author and licence shown under each image. When you reuse a deck, keep those credits; some licences (such as CC BY-SA) have further conditions.

The Service itself, its design and its software belong to ScalpelXLab. If you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, email admin@scalpelxlab.com and we will review and remove it where appropriate.

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features and may update these terms; if the changes are significant, we will show a notice on the Service. Continuing to use it after a change means you accept the updated terms.

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, ScalpelXLab is not liable for any loss arising from use of the content, including clinical decisions, exam results or errors in the content. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana.
